Hi Everyone!! First let me say WELCOME TO AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL - E!
It looks to be shaping up into a really active group for Amnesty International and they were so impressed with hat's been done and what is continuing to be done. The really cool thing about this venuw is that we have an opportunity to make a difference from the comfort of our own homes. It's nice to think that we can reach out through that comfort and touch someone living in what many would describe as the pits of Hell.
I know that Elye is going to send around a notice about this but I just want to say myself...whatever letters you want to go to the prisoner(s) of your choosing, if you'll type up the letters on a notecard in Second Life and send them to me via my profile, I will print them and post them to Amnesty. It's really cool when they get a package from Amnesty and out comes all these envelopes with letters of support and encouragement. There are some helpful guidelines to writing these letters on the website. I have included a link at the bottom. Letting them know that they're not forgotten and that we're fighting for their rights is an important part of what we do.
http://www.amnestyusa.org/individuals-at-risk/prisoners-of-conscience/page.do?id=1011626&n1=3&n2=34just click on that link and it will give you information about the prisoners. Choose one and it will provide info and example letters or feel free to use your own words. The important thing is the contact.
Let me know if I can do anything to help! Congrats to everyone on a fantastic opening. Thank you Gamma for all of your hard work in getting things together and Elye for all of your work in providing leadership!
